I love these b&w images of
the old house that was part of our childhood…

Knock, knock…..knock, knock, knock. Silence.
Strange. You’re sure you heard laughing children and running feet, the melodious notes of saw and bow, a woman humming softly amid homely kitchen sounds.
You could smell the appetising aroma of beef stew and dumplings, see smoke curl from the chimney and fresh print curtains stirring a little as if detecting a close movement.
Knock, knock….a gust of wind rattles the dead vines and a gum leaf brushes across your forehead and the daydream becomes nostalgia.
You realize the sights and sounds were a chicken clucking, a possum scurrying across the roof, the wind making music in the eaves and the distant hum of machinery amid the rattling of loose tin.
Wispy clouds frame the old chimney and the breeze catches at the vines curtaining the window.
You feeling hungry and think beef stew and dumplings would be beaut for dinner.

Cindy, I reckon you probably get the general idea, but I didn’t mention how evocatively appealing these photos are. They are VERY appealing.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
